Today, we went to pick some strawberries. What fun! I now have a greater appreciation for those that pick berries for a living. It's hard work.Even harder when you're chasing a tod
dler, wearing a newborn, and trying to be a photographer, all while popping berries in your basket... and mouth! So yummy!

The kids had a great time. It took some convincing that we didn't want to pick the yellow or squishy berries. It took even more convincing to not immediately eat every berry picked. As far as they were concerned, washing was not necessary.
I can't believe how many berries we got for a mere $4.00. Such a bargain when you do the work.
After we paid for our haul and loaded up the kids, we headed over to Jordan Lake for a picnic. Although Amelia loved
carrying her Little Einstein's lunch box (thanks Kristina!), she was less than interested in eating her food. Sampling McCoy and Myla's lunches was much more enticing.
Soon it became all about play-time. Amelia, McCoy, and Myla chased each other, picked yellow-cups, and giggled all the while. The highlight of lunch was watching a boat being launched into the lake and the very excited dog that was going fishing with his owner. The sun was shining, a breeze was blowing - it was the perfect day for a picnic.
We missed our friends Sarah, Taylor and Catherine at playgroup today. We'll all have to go back to the berry patch soon, so they can experience all the fun!
