Tuesday was Amelia's last day of preschool. I can't believe her first year is already over! Fourteen more to go before college!

I'm not sure who's sadder... Amelia - because she'll miss her teachers and friends... or me - who will miss the three hours on Tuesday and Thursdays when she's at school.Thankfully, summer camp starts soon!Couldn't resist sharing a few school pictures. Check out her class photo... no kids are smiling and why is Amelia being held by her teacher?! (Something about being sad, a swing, and her friend Jon. We still can't figure out the real story.)
This is her spring school photo. She was supposed to miss it due to our April California trip. Thanks to American Airlines canceling our flight, she was able to go to school that morning and have her picture taken. We never know what she'll do - either a growling smile like her class photo... or surprisingly, a sweet smile like this one.
Amelia's First Day of School (08/07)... excited, willing, and full of wonder.

Amelia's Last Day of School (05/08)... a few inches taller, slightly smarter, still full of wonder, and a crazy smiler!

Today, we went to pick some strawberries. What fun! I now have a greater appreciation for those that pick berries for a living. It's hard work.
Even harder when you're chasing a tod
dler, wearing a newborn, and trying to be a photographer, all while popping berries in your basket... and mouth!
So yummy!
The kids had a great time. It took some convincing that we didn't want to pick the yellow or squishy berries. It took even more convincing to not immediately eat every berry picked. As far as they were concerned, washing was not necessary.
I can't believe how many berries we got for a mere $4.00. Such a bargain when you do the work.
After we paid for our haul and loaded up the kids, we headed over to Jordan Lake for a picnic. Although Amelia loved
carrying her Little Einstein's lunch box (thanks Kristina!), she was less than interested in eating her food. Sampling McCoy and Myla's lunches was much more enticing.

Soon it became all about play-time. Amelia, McCoy, and Myla chased each other, picked yellow-cups, and giggled all the while. The highlight of lunch was watching a boat being launched into the lake and the very excited dog that was going fishing with his owner. The sun was shining, a breeze was blowing - it was the perfect day for a picnic.
We missed our friends Sarah, Taylor and Catherine at playgroup today. We'll all have to go back to the berry patch soon, so they can experience all the fun!
I came home tonight from an evening with the girls, to find the sweetest sight... Noah and Lee snuggled up together. The house was quiet, everyone was asleep... maybe I should go out more often?!
Magical! That's the only word that can properly describe our recent trip to Disneyland. Magical.
Cousin Kristina is the one we have to thank for the amazing adventure we had April 14th. She treated - all twelve of us - to the best day ever at Disneyland. We are so lucky to be related to a Disney employee!
Our great group consisted of Kristina, Aunt Georgia, Gina, Maddie, Thomas, Matt, Noah,
Amelia, Lee, me... Grandma and Grandpa too! We were only missing Jon who was in Alaska on business. There were plenty of willing helpers to take care of the wee-little-ones, Thomas and Noah. Gina and I were very grateful for the extra hands. Every where we went, we were a small parade of four strollers... or "Chariots" as Amelia and Maddie liked to call them.
Amelia and Maddie couldn't resist dressing up as their favorite princesses, as our first stop was the princess meet and greet. Once again it didn't disappoint... if you don't count Pocahontas that is. What will Noah and Thomas think when they have to wait in line to meet Cinderella, Aurora, and Snow White?! Pirates anyone?!
Aunt Georgia thoughtfully treated the little girls to one of their most favorite things... face painting. In honor of cousin Andrew,
Amelia desperately wanted her face painted as a pirate. What a combination - a Cinderella pirate! She was steered in a different direction and ended up with a super-cute Tinkerbell on her cheek. Maddie made an superb choice in her butterfly.
Amelia and Maddie loved riding the rides with Kristina and Uncle Matt. They can't wait to go with them again. The Tea Cups, Dumbo, Rockets, Boats... and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Not sure Pirates was Amelia's favorite ride. She finally took her hands off her eyes about half-way through. What was her mom thinking?!

Kristina expertly planned our whole day. It was like having our very own VIP Guide. E-ticket all the way! She knows the park like the back of her hand, including the best restaurants and snacks.
We don't ever want to go without her again! Although next time might be adults-only... the big rides were teasing us all day. Thank goodness I was able to sneak in a ride on Space Mountain. (I didn't go on any "adult" rides last time, as I was pregnant with Noah.) It's been redone since I last rode it. Boy, was it a thrill!
Hard to believe that come August, Amelia will have visited Disneyland THREE times in one year. Noah will make his second visit before his first birthday. Crazy fun! Such lucky ducks. There will never be another visit like the kids' first one with Cousin Kristina... it was very very special.
We all can't wait to go with her again!
